Polish Science database (Nauka Polska) will be shut down

We would like to inform that as of the end of February 2024, the Polish Science (Nauka Polska) database will be deactivated. It will soon be replaced by a new portal – People of Science (Ludzie Nauki).

What will this change in the perspective of OSF system?

1. OSF users whose user accounts were previously linked to the Nauka Polska database do not need to make any changes in the OSF system at the moment.
2. As of February 27, 2024, no new functionalities will be developed in the OSF system that require to access data from the Nauka Polska database, while those used so far will be successively discontinued or replaced with new solutions.
3. Archival data which has already been obtained from the Nauka Polska database and used in applications or reports in OSF, will remain unchanged.
4. OSF will (until further notice) use the association with Nauka Polska database, but only to ensure the correctness of the archival data. If not earlier, the final termination of OSF’s association with the aforementioned database will take place in 2028, which results from the provisions of Article 219 paragraph 14 of the Law of July 3, 2018. – Provisions introducing the Act – Law on higher education and science.
5. The possibility of updating data in the Nauka Polska database will be maintained until the launch of the Ludzie Nauki (People of Science) portal full functionality, but it will be limited – the possibility of updating data directly on the Nauka Polska website is disabled – learn more about how to update data currently (polish only).
